This week we have been playing a variety of board games after Selby goes to sleep. It’s a nice way to reconnect as a family and to get us off our electronic devices before bedtime. A good friend of ours had given us King of Tokyo, a dice and strategy game involving Kaiju (crazy Godzilla-type monsters). This game gets our family seal of approved; it’s totally fun and teaches strategy and humility in the face of crushing defeat. This, plus all the trailers and advertisements for the new Godzilla movie got us wondering whether or not Jonas was old enough to watch Pacific Rim. Turns out just playing a board game with cardboard monsters was enough to fuel some pretty realistic nightmares about monsters crushing our house. Sooooo maybe we’ll wait a little while longer.
